Question
A one-meter in diameter holding tank, which is opened to the atmosphere, is filled with water. A four-inch line (ID) connects the bottom of the tank to a control valve, 30 feet below (assume the liquid level in the tank has negligible impact on the head). To simplify head loss calculations, use a constant friction factor of 0.06.
a) Obtain the pressure versus volumetric flow rate graph for the system outlined (the graph must include the hydrostatic head, pressure drop across the valve and line losses).
b) Based on the ratio of the highest to lowest pressure drop across the valve, would a linear or equal percentage valve be better suited?
c) Based on your recommendation in b), obtain a suitable valve size if the maximum desired flow rate is 150 gpm.
d) Obtain the installed valve characteristic curve for a linear and equal percentage valve. Does your recommendation made in b) hold?
Summary
This question belongs to physics and discusses about head loss calculations of a one-meter diameter tank.

I was first very skeptical about taking an online help for my project management assignments. However, the moment I took help I realized that a lot of things need more attention and they are generally not covered in the class. So, I think TheReliableTutor.com is a fantastic platform to polish your knowledge of operations management along with the concepts of project management.
I seriously used to mix up the concepts surrounding heat transfer and mass transfer. Initially I never get to understand which assignment is related to which chapter. Then one fine day, my friend Jenny, introduced me to HwA and since then everything went fine for me.
The standard of education varies tremendously with nature of university and it is difficult for people to find city specific assignment help. It was a delight to find out that in HwA they provide you with city and university specific assignment help.
First impression leaves a very deep mark in somebody’s mind and my research proposal, written by one of the experts of HwA was the first impression which impressed my dissertation advisor in my college of Hamilton. After the research proposal I took further help in the actual research paper and got excellent grades.
Higher order simultaneous equation where I needed to find out values for 5 or 6 variables forming appropriate equations from a given problem, was really my weak area. However, when I came across HwA they helped me and also assisted me to understand how exactly from a problem statement, the equations can be formed and how they can be evaluated.

this is a very good website
I have 50 questions for the same test your page is showing only 28
hi can you please help or guide me to answer my assignments. thanks
hi can anyone help or guide me to my assignments. thanks
This solution is perfect ...thanks
Hello Allison,I love the 2nd image that you did! I also, had never heard of SumoPaint, is something that I will have to exolpre a bit! I understand completely the 52 (or so) youtube videos that you probably watched. Sometimes they have what you want, sometimes they don't! However, it is always satisfying when you are able to produce something that you have taught yourself. Great job!Debra 0 likes
