Question
Presented below is selected information for Palmiero Company.
1. Palmiero purchased a patent from Vania Co. for $1,500,000 on January 1, 2010. The patent is being amortized over its remaining legal life of 10 years, expiring on January 1, 2020. During 2012, Palmiero determined that the economic benefits of the patent would not last longer than 6 years from the date of acquisition. What amount should be reported in the balance sheet for the patent, net of accumulated amortization, at December 31, 2012?
2. Palmiero bought a franchise from Dougherty Co. on January 1, 2011, for $350,000. The carrying amount of the franchise on Dougherty's books on January 1, 2011, was $500,000. The franchise agreement had an estimated useful life of 30 years. Because Palmiero must enter a competitive bidding at the end of 2020, it is unlikely that the franchise will be retained beyond 2020. What amount should be amortized for the year ended December 31, 2012?
3. On January 1, 2010, Palmiero incurred organization costs of $275,000. What amount of organization expense should be reported in 2012?
4. Palmiero purchased the license for distribution of a popular consumer product on January 1, 2012, for $150,000. It is expected that this product will generate cash flows for an indefinite period of time. The license has an initial term of 5 years but by paying a nominal fee, Palmiero can renew the license indefinitely for successive 5-year terms. What amount should be amortized for the year ended December 31, 2012?

Structuring the arguments while analyzing the Civil Rights movement in America, for my term paper, was bit of a challenge for me. I was unsure of how to proceed or gather information. Researching and then jotting the entire thing down needed certain help and I got that them from HwA. Here the experts not only helped me pinpoint some topics to write but also did a marvellous job in researching and helping out with the entire assignment. It is needless to say that I received excellent grades from my term paper advisor in college.
I hugely owe to HwA for clearing my concepts as far as accounting entries are concerned. Previously I was not sure in which side of the balance sheet I need to put things like “labour overheadâ€, “capital investmentâ€, etc. But now, thanks to HwA, everything is crystal clear.
Concepts like diffusion between phases often confused me in the past. I used to stumble at each given assignment. However, when I came across HwA, they took time to make me understand and solved all the critical problems, thereby helping me get excellent grades.
I must say that the random variable assignment experts here in HwA can surely make the numbers talk. I was given a sheet of data to analyze and honestly I had no clue whatsoever on how to approach. When I came to them they explained me the concept of discrete random variables (as the data was of an outcome of random test on some microorganism) and helped me analyze the same. My teacher at college was very impressed and since then I take help from HwA.
My story with HwA started on a mid-term day, during my graduation as I was stuck with an economics assignment solution. From then onwards I constantly have obtained help from HwA and they have never disappointed me ever.

Hello Allison,I love the 2nd image that you did! I also, had never heard of SumoPaint, is something that I will have to exolpre a bit! I understand completely the 52 (or so) youtube videos that you probably watched. Sometimes they have what you want, sometimes they don't! However, it is always satisfying when you are able to produce something that you have taught yourself. Great job!Debra 0 likes
