If pure, gaseous A is charged into an ideal batch reactor with an initial concentration of 5 mol/L, what is the time required for 80% conversion. Assume that the volume of the reacting mixture changes proportionately with conversion.
c) Now assume the same reaction is occurring at steady state in an ideal plug flow reactor. If the initial concentration in the plug flow is 5mol/L and the volumetric flow rate into the reactor is 10 L/s, what must the volume of the reaction be to achieve 80% conversion at the exit?
