Calculate Water Flow Rate And Power Requirement
Question
The tubes in an oil cooler are 25 mm OD and 2.5 m long and are so mounted that the centres of any 3 adjacent tubes form an equilateral triangle of 40 mm side. There are 150 such triangles. Water is pumped between tubes in a lengthwise direction at 3 m/s.
Calculate
(a) the water flow rate
(b) the power required to overcome friction if f = 0.01.
