Some liquid acetaldehyde (C2H4O) is put into a 5L flask. All of the air is removed before the flask is sealed. The flask sits at room temperature (25°C), where the vapor pressure of acetaldehyde is 902 mmHg, until is equilibrates. At this point, 15 ml of liquid acetaldehyde can be seen in the flask.
What is the pressure of the flask after it reaches equilibrium? Explain why. Calculate the total mass
(in g) of the acetaldehyde in the flask and the fraction that is in the vapor phase at equilibrium.
