The reaction A ïƒ 2B is to be carried out isothermally and isobarically in a PFR. The entering molar and volumetric flow rates are:
nA0 = 6.5 mol/hr
V0 = 10 dm3/hr
(a) Calculate the PFR reactor volume necessary to consume 97% of A, assuming A and B are liquids, and:
- -rA = k, k=0.05 mol*dm-3hr-1
- -rA = kCA, k=0.05 hr-1
- -rA = kCA2, k=0.05 dm3mol-1hr-1
- -rA = kCACB-1, k=0.05 mol*dm-3hr-1
(b) Repeat part (a), subpart iii. for A and B being gases.
(c) Repeat part (a), subpart iii. (A and B are liquids) for the PFR being shaped as:
where dr = 0.01dL and L/rAverage = 100
