Question
CM Ltd has been presented with the following project:
A new machine for £250,000 is required at the beginning of the first year. The machine will last for 4 years and thereafter can be disposed of for £25,000. The company’s policy is to depreciate this type of machine over its economic life on a straight-line basis.
The demand for the product CF depends on the states of the economy in the future. In the good state, CM Ltd expects to sell 15,000 units per year for the next 4 years. If the economy is bad, sales will fall to 5,000 units per year. Each state of the economy has an equal probability to materialize. Each unit of product CF will be priced at £40. Total variable costs per unit are expected to be £30 for the first year and rise by 10% per year thereafter. The cost of capital (after tax) is 10%. For the purposes of tax, the machine is available for capital allowance relief at 25% per annum on the written down value at the beginning of each year. Any unrelieved capital allowance will be given at the end of the project’s life.
Corporate tax at 30% of the taxable profit after capital allowances is payable in the same year as the profit to which the tax is related. The net cash flows (before tax) for the project are assumed to be the taxable profit before capital allowances. All cash flows are assumed to arise at the end of the year except the purchase of the new machine.
Required
i. Calculate the Net Present Value of the project.
ii. By how much does the cost of capital need to change before the NPV of the project becomes zero
Summary
The question belongs to Finance and it is about calculation of NPV for a project where a new machine is to be purchased by the company and use it for 4 years. Depending upon the demand for the product, the sales have been estimated. The change in cost of capital before the NPV reaches zero also needs to be calculated.

When I saw that the dissertation writers are from Canada itself it was such a big relief. They are aware of the structural requirements and also at the same time got the citations and the referencing exactly as demanded.
The best part about the assignments is the quality of writing that I have received every time. The “real world†examples collated locally from Singapore suggested by the online management assignment tutors with the corresponding requisite numbers help take the assignment several notches higher and have helped improve my grades.
I was very nervous when my thesis proposal submission date came closer. Only a week was remaining when my good friend Josh told me about TheReliableTutor.com. I was not sure but they did a marvelous job. Only within 4 days they prepared a wonderful Thesis Proposal and so I had assigned my entire Thesis to them and was very happy with the grade I got.
I needed help writing the solution to the assignment on how to derive the equilibrium constant expression for a protein crosslinking reaction using mass spectrometry. But i just did not know where to get the relevant solution material. Thanks to the chemical equilibrium assignment expert at HwA I was able to write the assignment with all the relevant research work and also get the accurate solution.
The concepts surrounding kinetics and dynamics in chemical engineering often confused me in my initial days, till I came across HwA. Their team of online chemical engineering assignment experts helped me through the course by letting me get excellent grades in all of my assignments. And the best part is that because the tutors are from Singapore itself there is no gap in the communication between us.

Hello Allison,I love the 2nd image that you did! I also, had never heard of SumoPaint, is something that I will have to exolpre a bit! I understand completely the 52 (or so) youtube videos that you probably watched. Sometimes they have what you want, sometimes they don't! However, it is always satisfying when you are able to produce something that you have taught yourself. Great job!Debra 0 likes
