100 m3/hr of normal butane at 25°C and 1 atm is combusted with stoichiometic amount of air in a well-insulated reactor. The hot gases are sent to a heat exchanger to provide the required heat for steam generation in a power plant. Unreacted butane is recycled back to the process as shown in the diagram below.
