Network Consulting Exercise: Estimating Hardware and Software Requirements for a Small Business

My name is Jason Long. I am the CEO of IL Corporation. IL is an investment firm that performs financial services to many organizations. We currently have a staff of 4 employees. We have 2 support staff members and 2 staff members, including myself, that travel to clients for consultations.

As of now, we have used Hotmail email to communicate, office based productivity software for writing documents and presentations, MSN for chatting, an anti-virus, and other software for day to day activities. Our biggest problem is that there is no network at our main office. The only resource sharing happens when we use a USB drive to hook to a computer that has a color printer.

IL is pursuing on taking our service globally. To perform this task, we need to hire more personnel and update our network. I am looking at your company to write a proposal on our needs and other items we may be overlooking.

This proposal should be in professional format. There is no specific length for this proposal but any non-technical person should be able to read and understand the proposal. Contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Sincerely; 01001010
Mr. Long CEO IL Corporation
