The presentation discusses the major differences and similarities between Monolithic and Layered models of data communication. Some of the differences are Monolithic model uses irregular or haphazard layering of data with operating system being run in kernel mode and the applications being run in different mode, while Layered model is much more organized than Monolithic model.
