Question

Most managers value initiative within their organisations and welcome suggestions for improvement. For this question, you will write an unsolicited informal proposal recommending a course of action based on the following scenario: You have recently begun a new job in an organisation. Since the start of winter, you have seen, almost weekly, that at least a few staff members would be off work sick for days either with influenza or with something else. You have previously worked in organisations where employees were given a free vaccination against the flu or, for general fitness, a subsidy for gym membership. These provisions not only benefited the employees but also made good business sense for the organisations, and you would like to see similar ideas implemented at your current work. So you decide to write an email to the chief executive officer (CEO) of the organisation introducing ONE of the ideas mentioned above and attaching the proposal for him or her to consider. The question is divided into two parts. One is the mail written to the CEO of the organization and the second part is will include an attachment to be sent to the CEO that discusses the need for such a health program in the organization and its advantages on the overall performance of the organization.

Summary

The question belongs to Human Resources Management and it discusses about writing an email to the CEO of an organization where a high percentage of employees are falling sick and you have to write a mail to the CEO highlighting this issue and some recommendations or ideas that can help in improving the situation such as free medical checkups or vaccination programs, etc.
